Our new Bald Eagle has a name!
In
late Fall or early Winter our newest Bald Eagle will arrive - and you've
helped us pick a name!
Over 20,000 of you enjoyed voting
recently at CivicFest in Minneapolis to help us choose a name for our
young male. The final count is in, and "Wasa’ka", the Dakota
name for strength is
the winner! Here are the results:
Was' aka: 42.5 %
Apollo: 32 %
Halia: 12.5 %
Franklin: 8%
North Star: 5%

National Eagle Center
The Mississippi River at Wabasha
is a favorite over wintering area for hundreds of bald eagles, as well
as home to countless year-round resident eagles.
Come share with us the beauty of this great raptor by visiting the
National Eagle Center. We are located in Wabasha, Minnesota just a short
drive from the Twin Cities, Rochester, Winona, Lacrosse and Eau Claire,
Wisconsin.
Our river deck is open 24/7 for eagle observation, and our center is
open Daily 10am - 5pm.
Meet our live education eagles in
our cage-free viewing area, ask our staff about eagles, take in an eagle
