National Eagle Center (NEC) Annual Photo Contest:

Categories: 1.  Eagle. 2.  River scenes.

                  3.  Flyway wildlife. 4.  Human Connection, images that show connections Eagles & humans have.

Who:  Amateur and professional level photographers, special youth category for ages 16 and under.  Entry is free for NEC Members, $35 for Non-members Non-members will receive individual membership for 1 year with entry and be eligible for other member contests throughout the year.

What:  Negative, slide or digital images printed, not computer manipulated, in color or black and white.  Photographs must be 8-inches by 10-inches and mounted on foam core board, matted or unmated, no frames.  Photographs must be taken in Minnesota or Wisconsin and the subject birds and animals must be wild.   Contestants may enter up to five photos in any combination of categories; only one entry fee applicable.  Judges will look at the technical quality, composition, representation of the category, and intrinsic beauty of each photograph to determine overall winners.  People’s Choice voting will be on-going throughout the month of March.  Photos for the 2011 calendar will be chosen by a NEC panel.

When:  Photographs will be accepted beginning January 1, 2010, through February 28, 2010.   Entries must be postmarked by February 28, 2010, to be entered into contest.   

Where:  Mail or hand deliver entries to Photo Contest, National Eagle Center, P.O. Box 242, 50 Pembroke, Wabasha, MN 55981.  All photographs will be on display beginning in March 2010 and remain until May 16th. Contest winners will be featured on the NEC website for the entire year.

How:  Attach an entry blank to back of each picture making sure the photographer’s name, address, phone, e-mail, and theme category is on each blank.  Include a sufficiently stamped, self-addressed envelope large enough for returning your photograph(s) if you want them back or will not be picking them up at the NEC after the contest.  

By submitting your photograph to the National Eagle Center Photo Contest you are giving non-exclusive rights for the NEC to utilize your image in future publications including but not limited to the 2011 calendar.  

 The National Eagle Center or its volunteers cannot be held responsible for any damage to photographs.
